Queensland Airport Limited announced that Gold Coast Airport will see an increase in passengers beginning this March, as Air New Zealand adds two additional weekly flights on its Auckland to Gold Coast route.
The additional flights will provide an extra 27,400 seats, taking the total to nine services per week between March and October 2023. These additions couldn’t have come at a better time, with more than 91% of seats on this route being booked out in the past six months,
According to Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe, New Zealand is currently Queensland’s number one country for international arrivals. The boost will see more visitors to the Gold Coast and surrounds, with passengers expected to come from New Zealand, as well as international destinations including New York, Chicago and Houston.
